Tattoo Aftercare

No matter how big or small your tattoo is, you need to properly care for it so that it stays looking fresh.

Some of the most important things to do before your tattoo session are to ensure you’re healthy and the area is ready, which means no alcohol 24 hours before the session, and avoiding blood thinning medications.

Once you’ve been inked, aftercare is crucial to ensure proper healing and the longevity of your tattoo. Aftercare includes things such as not scratching the tattoo, avoiding soaking your tattoo in water and applying aftercare cream two times a day for two weeks.

Before and aftercare is essential, whether it’s your first or fifth tattoo. Your tattoo can look its best if you follow our tattoo aftercare and preparation guides.

Cosmetic Tattoo Aftercare

Want to have bold brows or beautifully coloured lips? Cosmetic tattooing is the way to go!

Whether you’re looking at getting eyebrow tattoos, an eyeliner tattoo, a beauty spot tattoo, freckle tattoos, or a lip-blushing tattoo, preparation and aftercare are essential.

While the preparation and aftercare may look slightly different for each different type of cosmetic tattoo, some of the same preparation instructions include
Finish any acne medication at least six months before your session
Avoid chemical peels within the four weeks leading up to your appointment
Avoid acidic beauty products for at least two weeks before your session
Avoid the sun and any fake tan applications a week before your appointment
Avoid alcohol, caffeine and blood thinning medications for 24 hours before your session
Drink plenty of water and have a good meal before your appointment
To ensure long-lasting, beautiful cosmetic tattoos, it’s essential to follow our aftercare routine.

Piercing Aftercare

Piercings are a popular form of self-expression and date back over 5,000 years.

Aftercare is crucial no matter the piercing you are getting, whether it is a simple ear piercing, a body piercing, or a cartilage piercing. The quality of your aftercare routine can be the difference between the success of your piercing or your skin not accepting it.

Because of the range and the differing nature of each of the piercings we provide at Celebrity Ink, your aftercare instructions will look different, which is why it’s essential to follow the correct aftercare routine suited to your piercing.
