Should I Walk In Or Make A Booking For My Tattoo?

Congratulations on taking the step to get your first or next tattoo! No doubt you’ve been spending a lot of time hitting up a bunch of tattoo hashtags and other art-focussed instagram accounts to inspire your final design decision. Or maybe you have a more spontaneous nature and just want to show up when the adrenaline kicks in. But how should you go about making contact? Should you just walk in or book an appointment? Here’s the pros and cons to weigh up, depending on your circumstances.

Walk in for a tattoo

Getting a tattoo can be intimidating but there is no reason for this if you equip yourself with some of these tips for a walk-in tattoo.

Even though you are walking into your tattoo studio, you can still get a tattoo the same day if the studio has an artist available. Most tattoo studios are very open to answering any questions you have but they want to be sure your decision to get the tattoo is based on a sound idea and has personal significance for you. Many tattoo studios have flash designs you can see immediately on an iPad which you can then have inked on a chosen area. A tip here, don’t ask for an edit to your flash - they are priced accordingly. A flash tattoo is your best bet if you are going to just walk in and not book ahead. You’ll also need to make sure you are healthy and are prepared to talk with your tattoo artist on the day about any health issues which may affect your tattoo.

Booking an appointment for your custom tattoo

If you just intend to get a flash tattoo then it is perfectly acceptable to just wing it with a walk in but if a custom design is your desire then booking with a studio means you have the chance to discuss things in detail ahead of your tattoo. The benefits of booking your appointment for your tattoo means the tattoo studio can ensure they have the most suitable tattooist for your particular request and the time put aside to bring it to life. You’ll also be able to budget accordingly and consult on the design process. A custom tattoo also takes longer than a flash tattoo so these are best suited for making an appointment as well.

You can still live spontaneously and get a tattoo on a whim with our walk in booking option! But if you like to plan and consult, there’s an option for you too - getting a tattoo doesn’t have to mean you need to live life on the edge.

Celebrity Ink™  is now open and with studios situated in most shopping centres or precincts, so there is handy access to just walk in for your next tattoo. Otherwise, please message us on our Facebook page here. Artists can discuss your requirements and any queries you have regarding our safe practices.
