Script Tattoos

Forget symbolism; get your message across with a custom script tattoo!

Choose initials, one word or an entire quote to spell it out: there’s no disguising what your tattoo says. But that doesn’t mean your script tattoo has no special significance to you.

In fact, custom lettering is often one of the most personal tattoos you can get, aside from a portrait tattoo of a loved one.

Are you a science fiction fan or fascinated by how technology and the human body can work together? Why not honour that fascination with an epic biomechanical tattoo?

Biomechanical tattoos are incredibly unique and stunning works of art that have gained popularity over the years. Essentially, they are tattoos that give the illusion of seeing mechanical parts beneath the surface of your skin.

Different Script Tattoo Ideas

If you’re considering getting a script tattoo, there are many different styles to choose from, including

Cursive
If you’d like an elegant and decorative look for your script tattoo, cursive font is the way to go!  Known for its smooth and curvy lines, cursive lettering is a beautiful way to showcase a name, initials or quote.
Numbers
Pay homage to dates or numbers that have a significant meaning to you with a numbers script tattoo, one of the oldest tattoo styles in the world. This can be done in any numbering style, including Roman numerals. If you want new ink that’ll stand out, numbers are a great way to go!
Quotes
Whether it’s a motivational quote, a religious quote or a quote from someone you love that has lots of meaning, quote tattoos are very popular.  Once you’ve chosen what quote you’d like to get inked, we can help you choose a font and placement to ensure you are happy with your new piece.
Names
Name tattoos are quite common, and people get them for various reasons, such as honouring loved ones, celebrating family bonds and expressing commitment in relationships.  No matter the reason you’re getting a name tattooed on you, your tattoo artist will sit down with you to discuss the font type and where you’d like it placed on your body to ensure you’re happy with the final result.
Foreign Languages
Script tattoos in foreign languages are very popular, especially in Chinese, Japanese and Arabic.  Some people get tattoos in foreign languages for aesthetics, to express their cultural interests or heritage, or to reflect a connection with a specific culture.  However, when choosing to get a tattoo in a foreign language, you must take caution. With more than 7,000 languages worldwide, it’s important to do proper research to ensure you don’t end up with a tattoo with a completely different meaning than you thought.

Message and meaning

The first thing you should consider before getting a script tattoo is the message you want to convey. Whether you’re getting a tattoo of a sentence written by a loved one or your favourite motivational quote, the meaning behind your tattoo should be clear.

Size and placement

Next, you’ll need to decide how big your tattoo will be and where you’d like it on your body. The size of your tattoo will depend on what the design is. For example, if you’re getting numbers, the tattoo will be small and can be placed anywhere on your body. However, if you’re getting a long and detailed quote, it will be a larger piece and, therefore, need a bigger canvas, such as your back or arms/legs.

Foreign languages

You must research beforehand if you’ve decided to get a quote or characters tattooed in a foreign language. You don’t want to end up with a tattoo in Arabic or Japanese that doesn’t mean what you think it does.

Font style

Finally, the last thing to consider before getting a script tattoo is the type of font you’d like. Ranging from calligraphy to modern and even custom scripts, the font of your tattoo can heavily influence the overall aesthetic and meaning of your tattoo.
